Another often overlooked reason to wear knee pads is to protect your pants from dirt and grass stains. This will become very important should you need to ask for permission to search an area of land. Does your research before you buy a set of knee pads. You need to think about where they will be used the most. Other areas to consider are how easy are they to get on and off. If you are not too flexible after a day’s detecting, you may want some that are attached by Velcro or some easy release mechanism. And finally the appearance is important.
